Home > Programmes > German Section > Primary > Transition Level Class 4 and 5

The classes 4 and 5 serve as the transition from elementary school to secondary level I and are based on each other instructionally and methodically. This enables the individual student to continuously develop his/her academic and personal skills and development. Furthermore, this serves to develop his/her academic competence as well and supports the student’s qualification which path to take (see Regulation for Orientation level). At this point we advise parents and set up a temporary academic career plan with relevant suggestions for the individual’s group. We are convinced that we can only offer the best learning and performance conditions if both partners are informed at the right time.

Only at the end of class 5 we divide students up in different classes depending on their performances. Here, the lessons are oriented according to the learning goals of the German high school (Gymnasium). All the students study together in one class room disregarding which academic branch they are taking. This situation remains up to class 6. Then the students are taught according to their different academic skills and abilities. Manageable class rooms of 12 students in average provide the best conditions for such kind of encouragement.
