“The limits of my
language are the
limits of my world.”
- Ludwig v. Wittgenstein
Foreign language instruction should be part of every child's education. Learning a new language does not only imply to learn new words and grammatical structures. It includes to get to know a different culture and a certain way of thinking. To study a language is equal to study life, literature, history and thought.
Like in most German schools abroad the subjects “German as a foreign language” (DaF) and German as a secondary language (DaZ) play a vital role at our school. As soon as they start with Kindergarten we introduce the German language to the children in a playful manner by means of songs, rhymes, games, and playing or acting out roles. All lessons in the subjects DaF and DaZ are taught by a specially trained native German speaking teacher.
