Graduation Ceremony of IB 2 and Class 9/10:
On the 3rd of June 2009, the German European School Manila held the graduation ceremony for Grade 9 and 10 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) II students at the Turf Room of the Manila Polo Club. The students, together with their parents, siblings, relatives, and friends came flocking despite the heavy downpour.
The ceremony was emceed by an IBDP I student and incoming class president, Marten Lukas Scholz, as well as by Grade 9 student Helene Kuchta. It started with a choral performance by the Novo Concertante Manila, which were followed by speeches from the GESM headmaster, Wolfgang Kollecker; the German Embassy's commercial councelor, Sabine Honer; the class teacher of grade 10, Ralph Hoffmann, and IBDP coordinator, Roland Heinmüller.
In between the speeches there were more performances by the choir and the graduates' responses. The IB 2 students also thought of presenting floral bouquets to the teachers as a sign of appreciation for the teachers' patience and hard work.
While all grade 10 students made their individual speeches, Leo Kuchta spoke on behalf of the IB 2 class (Leandro Niederer, Spyros Ninio Ravanopoulos, Zoe Richards).
