Important Update
Influenza A(H1N1):
Dear Parents,
We continue to monitor the situation with regard to the Influenza A(H1N1) very closely, particularly as there have been a few cases in the Philippines. We carefully consider the advice and information from competent authorities such as:
World Health Organisation
European Centre of Disease
We would like to reassure you that GESM is at a high level of preparedness to take further steps to protect students and staff should the need arise. As you are probably aware, Influenza A(H1N1) is not the only threat to the health of our community as, for example, we have now entered the season for enterovirus which may particularly affect our younger children at this time of year. We do, of course, continue to pay great attention to the cleaning of the campus facilities and we ask you to support us by emphasizing personal hygiene with your children, notably: regular hand-washing and use of tissues for sneezing and coughing. Once again, we ask for your cooperation in not sending your children to school if they are unwell, particularly with a fever, and to seek medical attention from a doctor.
