Grade 7D tidies up with Pablo Picasso

First, the students of 7D watched a funny movie about the Swiss artist Urs Wehrli, who demonstrates how to tidy up art. Wehrli disassembles pictures into their optical components and rearranges them according to size, shape, quantity, and color. Afterward, the students could choose a cubist portrait of Pablo Picasso and immediately knew what their task was. They identified the parts of the picture, cut them out, and rearranged them according to their own criteria. The class mastered even the difficult parts with great skill. After completing their new artworks, they compared them with the original and discussed whether disassembling and tidying up an existing artwork can also be considered art.
