How to Enroll

Our admission process typically starts with a school visit. Contact us to set an appointment for a tour of our campus, or schedule a video call if a physical visit is not yet possible.  

Our admission team will guide you through the next steps and prodive you with the necessary forms and list of requirements after this initial contact. 

Admission Process

Please be aware that you have the option to enter either of both Sections, regardless of the native language of your child. The German Section allows the enrollment of young pupils without previous knowledge of German via an integreation programme, while the International Section integrates children without previous knowledge of English.

Applications for admission in the Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary of the German European School Manila go through the steps indicated below:

1. First Contact
 

Interested families are asked to contact the school to set a meeting. This can be done via the buttons above or by sending an email to admission@gesm.org.


2. Initial Meeting
 

On this meeting, we ask for the following documents to be submitted, if possible:

  • ID- Card or Photocopy of the student’s passport /Reisepass (if available)

  • Report Cards of the past 2 years 

      Kindergarten and Pre-School present certificates if available. 

      These certificates might be sent by e-mail in advance. 

3. Assessment and Interview
 

In special cases, we might ask an incoming student to take a short test in Math, English, German or other general academic skills. 

At Kindergarten and Primary Grades 1 and 2, an assessment is based on standardised observation comprising academic skills, social and personal competences.

Students with the following certificates may be exempted from the application test:

  • Students from any class of the German system with all passing grades (German Section).

  • Students from any class of a British or American school system with all passing grades (International Section).

4. Submission of the Application Form

5. Approval and Enrolment
 

The completed application form and his recommendation will be endorsed by the Head of Section within 7 days to the Head of School for final approval.


6. The Signing of Contract and Admission Fee Payment
 

Successful applicants sign the school’s contract and pay their admission fees at the Accounting Office 10 days after the pedagogical approval.


7. First day of school
 

Upon final signature and receipt of the admission fee, applicants will receive a Welcome Letter to signify their admission to the school.

 


How to find the correct class level:

Please note that the German section and the International Section follow two different curriculums.

For the German Section (School Year 2020/2021):

A child turning 6 years old on or before the 30th of June 2020, will enter

Grade 1.

For the International Section (School Year 2020/2021):

A child turning 6 years old on or before the 30th of September 2020, will enter

Grade 1.
