Early Years Programme > A Virtual Day in Early Years

At the onset of Distance Learning in response to the COVID-19 community quarantine, the school embarked upon training our teachers as well as putting systems and procedures together to effectively deliver learning to our students keeping in mind

(1) Health and Safety of our school community and

(2) The student-centered and transdisciplinary approach of the Primary Years Programme as our framework integrating a compressed Cambridge Scope and Sequence where we would focus on the most essential life and learning skills to deliver in our teaching and learning.

A mix of synchronous and asynchronous approaches will be used in delivering lessons in the Early Years. A maximum of 80 minutes each day is dedicated to live-streaming where teachers facilitate active student learning.  Each student also has one on one sessions and small group sessions throughout the week which aim to target specific needs of each child by the teachers.  DaF or German As A Foreign Language also have small group sessions and one-on-one lessons twice a week for each child.

All classes include vibrant songs, stories and inquiry-based lessons across all subjects in our Cambridge curriculum.

Under normal circumstances, Early Years has full-time classes from Monday to Friday, 7:30am–1:30pm with optional afternoon activities until 3:00pm.

Our International Section Kindergarten & Pre-Primary adheres to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).
