Dies ist das brandneue Logo der 13. Südostasien Spiele, die vom 1. bis zum 5. Mai an unserer Schule stattfinden werden.

Vor ungefähr einem halben Jahr kam Frau Huber auf mich zu und fragte mich, ob ich nicht vielleicht meine zeichnerischen Kompetenzen irgendwo nützlich einsetzen will. Zu dieser Zeit waren die Südostasienspiele noch gar nicht in aller Munde, somit wusste ich zuerst nicht, wovon sie gesprochen hat. Als sie mir dann erklärte, dass ich für so einen großen Event ein Logo entwerfen darf, unter dem mein Name stünde, biss der Narzisst in mir natürlich sofort zu. Ich entwarf innerhalb der ersten Stunden ein paar Skizzen, unter denen die eines simplifizierten Diskuswerfers als beste hervorstand. Und das nicht nur für mich, sondern auch für Frau Huber, welche positiv überrascht war, da ich nicht immer in so kurzer Zeit derart produktiv war. Und so entwarf ich zu Hause eine digitale Version der Figur und bearbeitete Sie nach den Verbesserungsvorschlägen des Herrn Hölzchen. Zuletzt modifizierte ich noch mit Herrn Simmelbauer zusammen die Färbung, so dass ich nun auf mein "Meisterwerk" stolz sein darf.

We are building a Gingerbread House!
​
On December 3-4, our students will be baking gingerbread cookies together with parent volunteers from our ever supportive GEB under the supervision of Mr. R. Hoffmann.
​
The cookies will be sold at the Bake Sale on December 5-6 from 12 noon to 2PM. Working tables will be provided in the lobby so that our young cookie artists will have the chance to decorate their gingerbread before sticking it to the Gingerbread House! They can also opt to bring their cookies home with them.
​
So please come and help us complete our Gingerbread House next week! See you!
Wir bauen ein Lebkuchenhaus!
Am 3. und 4. Dezember backen unsere SchülerInnen Lebkuchenkekse, zusammen mit freiwilligen Eltern des GEB und unter der Aufsicht von Herrn Hoffmann.
​
Die Kekse werden am 5. und 6. Dezember von 12.00 bis 14.00 Uhr verkauft. Es werden Tische in der Lobby bereitgestellt, so dass unsere jungen Keks-Künstler die Möglichkeit haben, ihre Lebkuchen zu dekorieren, bevor sie damit ein Lebkuchenhaus bauen. Die Kekse dürfen aber auch mit nach Hause genommen werden.

Kommen Sie doch auch und helfen Sie mit, unser Lebkuchenhaus fertigzustellen!

Sankt Martinsfest
2019
Das jährliche Sankt Martinsfest war ein voller Erfolg. Die Schulgemeinschaft genoss einen wundervollen Abend umgeben von farbenfrohen Laternen. Es gab schöne Aufführungen, Lobbyausstellungen und Backverkäufe. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche unten, um weitere Bilder anzuzeigen.
ISOLATION BERLIN
Am 21. November fand an unserer Schule ein Konzert statt. Die deutsche Rockband "Isolation Berlin" spielte für die älteren Schülerinnen und Schüler ihre Lieder. Die Band, die auf einer Asientour ist, wurde vom Goethe-Institut eingeladen.

GESM’s MUN Group returns to MUNA Orientation 2018
For the second year running, a motivated and excited group of GESM MUN club members descended on Brent ISM to participate in the MUNA Orientation conference this past Saturday November 17th. This was a preliminary to the big event that will be hosted by the Jose P. Rizal Rotary Club of Makati for the 21st consecutive year at the UN WHO facility here in Manila.
​
To start off the conference, the delegates were inspired by a nice opening speech about the benefits of MUN participation by the Secretary General. Then, they were off to committees to learn rules and procedures before giving their opening speeches on their respective topics ranging from the use of drones in combat to promoting women’s access to the ICT industry.
​
After another round of formal and informal debate after lunch, they all gathered at the General Assembly to present their cases and vote on their resolutions.
​
Finally, it was time for the Rotary Club, secretariat and host school’s advisor time to wrap things up with awards and heartfelt closing speeches. All of this was aimed at encouraging participation at future MUN event that promote empathy, action and the involvement of today’s youth to lead us towards a better world in the future.
This event was another positive experience for our students interacting with most of the international schools in Manila and from as far away as Baguio. GESM was ably represented at this edition of MUNA Orientation by Felicia Simorangkir, Kai Matus, Kyla Gebhardt, Mariana Ochoa, Steven Walden, Philip Henkelmann and Rohin Kidambi. Special thanks go out to MUN club president Ashley Ott and vice-president Niklas Simorangkir for providing lunchtime tutorials and offering one-on-one assistance to help the students prepare.
Once again, our next and final event of this school year will be the aforementioned two-day event at the beautiful UN building in Malate that kicks off on Saturday February 16th. Don’t miss it!
