College or university, Philippines or Europe, US or UK, vocational education or gap year – students in the DP/CP classes have a lot of options when it comes to their tertiary education. Especially during the last years at GESM, we want students to take ownership over their next steps.
That is why we want to invite you to join us on November 3rd for our Career Day. We look for stories and career paths that are unusual, that have a twist or involve a change of profession. Did you study one subject and ended up (for now anyway) in a completely different field? Did you opt for an apprenticeship and maybe attend university later in your career or not at all? What brought you to the Philippines or did you plan your career so that it would lead to Manila?
We want stories that ideally inspire future movers and shakers; that encourage pursuing a passion rather than a certain salary level; that show junctions in a path rather than a fast-track career highway. Ideally, you can talk about hiccups and challenges in your careers, difficulties and how you mastered them (e.g. COVID-19) or think about the best advice you can give to young people today. If you are willing to share your story, we would love for you to join us. The format could be a formal presentation (with or without media) to G9-12, a seminar (small group of students in a classroom) or a round-table discussion (maybe even with other parents and a small group of students). Each session will be about 40 minutes long, include a Q&A part and ideally run twice.
