School Events
At GESM we maintain the warm, vibrant traditions of a German school while embracing an international, bilingual spirit. Throughout the year we host the full range of customary German school events from Einschulung (first-day school ceremonies) to St. Martin’s lantern processions, Nikolaustag celebrations, and Karneval festivities each presented in a way that is welcoming to our diverse community.
A Bilingual & Multicultural Community
Our celebrations reflect the bilingual nature of our school. Many events are conducted in both German and English, allowing every family to understand and participate regardless of language background.
We also regularly celebrate alongside our neighbouring French school. One highlight is the annual commemoration of the Élysée Treaty, which celebrates the friendship between Germany and France while encouraging intercultural understanding among our students.
OUR SCHOOL TRADITIONS
Community and Social Engagement
School life extends beyond the classroom. Throughout the year, students participate in activities that encourage responsibility, teamwork, and service to others.
Examples include:
Christmas Bazaar
24-Hour Swimming Challenge
Student-led fundraising initiatives
Charity partnerships
These experiences help students understand the importance of giving back while developing organisational and leadership skills.
