Each class elects Class Speakers.Class Speakers elect Section Speakers, who form the Student Council (SMV – Schülermitverantwortung).The council meets regularly with a faculty adviser.

The German European School Manila (GESM), together with the Lycée Français de Manille (LFM), forms the European International School, Inc. (EIS), the legal entity accredited by the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd).

GESM's daily operations are led by a dedicated management team that oversees academic excellence, school operations, and strategic development.

GESM consists of two school sections and seven educational departments, each led by a Head of Department responsible for curriculum delivery, teaching quality, and day-to-day academic operations.

GOVERNANCE AND COMMUNITY

German School Association (GSA)

GESM operates under the German School Association in Manila (GSA), a registered organization under German law. The GSA oversees the school and serves as the official liaison with authorities in Germany and the Philippines. Families may join the GSA during enrollment by paying an annual membership fee and sending an application. Members elect the Board of Directors and vote on major school matters at the Annual General Membership (AGM) meeting.

STUDENT VOICE AND PARTICIPATION

Students are encouraged to develop leadership, responsibility, and teamwork through structured opportunities appropriate to their age and stage of learning.

Primary School:
Houses System

Students are assigned to one of six Houses: Dresden, Berlin, Bremen, München, Frankfurt, or Münster.Each House includes students from different grade levels and from both the German and English sections.House membership remains the same throughout a student's time in Primary, helping build lasting friendships and a strong sense of belonging.Every House is supported by dedicated faculty advisers.
