Organization
Strong leadership, collaborative governance, and an engaged school community are at the heart of the German European School Manila. Our organizational structure brings together school leaders, teachers, parents, and students in a shared commitment to educational excellence, transparency, and continuous development, ensuring that every member of the community plays a meaningful role in supporting student success.
SCHOOL LEADERSHIP
GESM's daily operations are led by a dedicated management team that oversees academic excellence, school operations, and strategic development.
GESM consists of two school sections and seven educational departments, each led by a Head of Department responsible for curriculum delivery, teaching quality, and day-to-day academic operations.

STUDENT VOICE AND PARTICIPATION
Students are encouraged to develop leadership, responsibility, and teamwork through structured opportunities appropriate to their age and stage of learning.
Primary School:
Houses System
How it works

Students are assigned to one of six Houses: Dresden, Berlin, Bremen, München, Frankfurt, or Münster.

Each House includes students from different grade levels and from both the German and English sections.

House membership remains the same throughout a student's time in Primary, helping build lasting friendships and a strong sense of belonging.

Every House is supported by dedicated faculty advisers.
Student Leadership

Students elect a House Captain and Vice Captain at the beginning of each school year.

Student leaders help organize activities and represent their House.

Students participate in House activities for at least two periods each week, including:

Secondary School: Student Council (SMV)
How it works

Each class elects Class Speakers.

Class Speakers elect Section Speakers, who form the Student Council (SMV – Schülermitverantwortung).

The council meets regularly with a faculty adviser.
