In der englischsprachigen Early Years Abteilung der DESM wird das forschende Lernen des International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) mit dem international anerkannten Cambridge International Curriculum verbunden. Das PYP bildet den Rahmen für Lehren und Lernen, während das Cambridge Curriculum die fachbezogenen Inhalte und Lernprogressionen vorgibt. So entsteht eine ganzheitliche, integrierte Lernerfahrung.
EIN CURRICULUM, ZWEI INTERNATIONALE RAHMENWERKE
Die englischsprachige Early Years Abteilung nutzt das International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) als Rahmen für Lehren und Lernen, während das Cambridge International Curriculum die fachbezogenen Inhalte und Lernprogressionen vorgibt.
Innerhalb der PYP-Einheiten werden alle Cambridge-Inhalte und Lernziele integriert, um das Verständnis der zentralen Idee und der Leitfragen zu fördern. Während jeder Einheit entwickeln die Schülerinnen und Schüler die im PYP verankerten Lernansätze, darunter Forschungs-, Denk-, Sozial-, Kommunikations- und Selbstmanagementfähigkeiten.
Neben der Förderung von fundiertem Wissen legen wir großen Wert auf die Entwicklung verantwortungsbewusster und engagierter Persönlichkeiten durch das PYP Learner Profile.

What is the Primary Years Programme (PYP)?
The Early Years English Section adheres to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). The programme focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside.
Within the PYP Framework are a distinctive set of attributes, skills and attitudes that aim to develop active, compassionate and lifelong learners. Together with the Transdisciplinary Skills, these prepare IB students to make exceptional contributions on campus.

The Cambridge International Curriculum sets a global standard for education and is recognised by universities worldwide. It is flexible, challenging and inspiring, culturally sensitive yet international in approach.
