The GESM welcomes Ms Sylvie Weyer, our new Head of Kindergarten and Vorschule (Pre-Primary) in the German section! Ms Weyer has been teaching with us since August, and since this month has started taking over the duties of Department Head.
A big thank you to outgoing Head Mrs Katrin Parker who has served us well and shall now take over the Vorschule class (German Pre-Primary) in a regular teaching capacity.

Liebe Eltern!
Seit August diesen Jahres begleite ich nun schon Ihre Kinder Online durch die Kindergartenzeit. Pünktlich zu den Herbstferien habe ich ich geschafft in Manila anzukommen. Ich möchte die Gelegenheit nutzen, um mich kurz vorzustellen.
Nach meiner Ausbildung zur Erzieherin war ich erst als Gruppenleiterin, später als Leiterin in privaten und öffentlichen Einrichtungen in Deutschland, Asien und Afrika tätig. Erfahrungen mit Kindern unter 3 Jahren bis zur Einschulung sowie die Arbeit in bilingualen Kindergärten Asiens und Afrikas prägen meine Arbeit. Für meine pädagogische Arbeit im Kindergarten der GESM verfolge ich den roten Faden in folgendem Zitat:
„Solange die Kinder klein sind, gib ihnen Wurzeln,
sind sie älter geworden, gib ihnen Flügel“ (aus Indien) Wichtig als Basis sollen die kleinen Dinge des Lebens wie Freundlichkeit, gegenseitige Wertschätzung, Toleranz und ein respektvolles Miteinander sein.
Ich freue mich auf Ihre Kinder, auf eine vertrauensvolle Zusammenarbeit und eine schöne Kennenlernzeit.

Since August of this year I have been with you and your children online during the time in kindergarten. I managed to arrive in Manila right during the Autumn break and now I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself briefly:
After my training as an educator, I first worked as a group leader and later as a manager in private and public institutions in Germany, Africa and Asia. Experiences with children under 3 years of age up to school enrolment as well as work in bilingual kindergartens in Africa shape my work. For my educational work in the GESM kindergarten I follow the red thread in the following quotation:
"As long as the children are small, give them roots,they have grown older, give them wings "(from India)The little things in life are important. With friendliness, calm gestures, to pay attention to mutual appreciation and to cultivate a respectful interaction with others.
