Curriculum Overview
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) provides the framework for teaching and learning. Through interdisciplinary Units of Inquiry, students explore meaningful concepts and real-world issues while developing the knowledge, skills, and attributes needed to become confident, compassionate, and lifelong learners.

Within the PYP framework, the English Primary School uses the Cambridge Primary curriculum for the core subjects of English, Mathematics, and Science. Cambridge provides internationally benchmarked learning objectives, while the PYP encourages students to make connections across subjects through inquiry and collaboration.

Growing with Languages

German is an integral part of every student's educational journey at GESM. All students study German, with classes tailored to their individual proficiency level. Beginners and more advanced learners are taught in separate groups by specialist German teachers, allowing every child to progress at an appropriate pace.

Students who develop their German proficiency quickly are encouraged to attend selected lessons in the German Primary School, giving them the opportunity to experience authentic German-language learning and, if they wish, work towards a bilingual academic pathway in the future.
