Each class elects Class Speakers.Class Speakers elect Section Speakers or Department Speakers, who form the Student Council (SMV – Schülermitverantwortung).The council meets regularly with a faculty adviser.

The SMV serves as the link between students, teachers, and school leadership by:Representing student ideas and concernsSupporting communication across the school communityEncouraging active student participation

Organization

Strong leadership, collaborative governance, and an engaged school community are at the heart of the German European School Manila. Our organizational structure brings together school leaders, teachers, parents, and students in a shared commitment to educational excellence, transparency, and continuous development, ensuring that every member of the community plays a meaningful role in supporting student success.

GOVERNANCE AND COMMUNITY

German School Association (GSA)

GESM operates under the German School Association in Manila (GSA), a registered organization under German law. The GSA oversees the school and serves as the official liaison with authorities in Germany and the Philippines. Families may join the GSA during enrollment by paying an annual membership fee and sending an application. Members elect the Board of Directors and vote on major school matters at the Annual General Membership (AGM) meeting.
