Was für ein Jahr! Die Pandemie, der Lockdown, die Online-Schule… In den letzten 12 Monaten geschah ziemlich viel.
Trotz aller Einschränkungen und Herausforderungen gelang uns aber die 3. Deutschlehrertagung auf den Philippinen zu organisieren. Genauso wie letztes Jahr wurde die Konferenz online, auf der Zoom-Plattform durchgeführt.
Die DLT 2021, die am 12. und 13. März stattfand, war ein gemeinsames Projekt der Arbeitsgruppe "Netzwerk Deutsch" unter der Schirmherrschaft der Deutschen Botschaft in Manila. Zu dieser Gruppe gehören: der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst Lektorat Philippinen (DAAD), das Goethe-Institut Philippinen, die Deutsche Europäische Schule Manila und die Fachschaft Deutsch der Sprachenabteilung der Diliman Universität.
Die deutsche Botschafterin, Frau Anke Reiffenstuehl, die ihre Grußworte in einem Video schickte, sprach über Herausforderungen des Unterrichtens heutzutage. Sie wies auch darauf hin, dass in den letzten 5 Jahren die Anzahl der Deutschlerner auf den Philippinen um etwa 250% gestiegen sei, was ein wichtiger Grund sei, die Zusammenarbeit der DaF-Lehrkräfte aufrechtzuerhalten.
Die Konferenz begann am Freitagnachmittag mit einem „Virtuellen Networking Cocktail“ und dem ersten fachlichen Input zum Thema digitale Unterrichtsmethoden. Am Samstag gab es interessante Workshops in Bezug auf den DaF-Unterricht und zur weiteren Schärfung unserer digitalen Fähigkeiten.
Darüber hinaus konnte man auch einen Workshop über das Wohlergehen der Lehrkräfte besuchen, denn in diesem langen Lockdown ist es besonders wichtig, um sich selbst zu kümmern, mit dem Stress umgehen zu können und etwas für eigene Seele zu tun.
Die Konferenz war eine gute Gelegenheit den fachlichen Austausch und die DaF-Qualität zu stärken und das Netzwerk mit Kolleginnen und Kollegen, Verlagen und DaF-Interessierten aus verschiedenen privaten und öffentlichen Institutionen auszubauen.

3rd Philippine German Language Teachers Conference
STRENGTHENING DIGITAL GERMAN TEACHING SKILLS
What a year! The pandemic, the lockdown, the online school ... a lot has happened in the past 12 months.
Despite all the restrictions and challenges, we managed to organize the 3rd Philippine German Language Teachers Conference. Just like last year, the conference was held online on the Zoom platform.
The DLT 2021, which took place on March 12th and 13th, was a joint project organized by the DAAD Lektorat Philippinen, the Goethe-Institut Philippinen, the German European School Manila, the German Section of the Department of European Languages of the University of the Philippines Diliman under the patronage of the German Embassy Manila.
The German ambassador, Ms. Anke Reiffenstuehl, who sent her greetings in a video, spoke about the challenges of teaching today. She also pointed out that in the last 5 years the number of German learners in the Philippines has increased by about 250%, which is an important reason to keep up the cooperation of the German teachers.
The conference started on Friday afternoon with a "Virtual Networking Cocktail" and the first professional input on the topic of digital teaching methods. On Saturday there were interesting workshops related to German classes and to development of our digital skills.
In addition, the participants could also attend a workshop about the well-being of teachers, because in this long lockdown it is particularly important to take care of yourself, to be able to deal with the stress and to do something for own soul.
The conference was a good opportunity to strengthen the professional exchange and quality of German classes and to expand the network with colleagues, publishers and those interested in German as foreign Language from various private and public institutions.
We hope that everyone who attended the conference found something interesting and engaging for themselves.
