Curriculum

We offer a full K-12 education -- two parallel sections in German and English from Kindergarten to Grade 10, converging in the last two years to either of two International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes.

Kindergarten and Vorschule

(German Preschool)

  • Follows IB's Primary Years Programme

Ages 6 to 10/11

Grundschule 
(German Primary)

  • Grades 1 to 4 
     

English Primary 

  • Grades 1 to 5

  • Follows IB's Primary Years Programme

Ages 10/11 to 16

Mittelstufe 
(German Secondary/Middle School)

  • Grades 5 to 10

  • Realschulabschluss or Hauptschulabschluss after Grade 9 or 10

English Secondary 

  • Grades 6 to 10

  • IGCSE Exams taken in Grade 10

  • DSD I (Intermediate German Language Exam) taken in Grade 9
     

Ages 16 to 18

​Senior Years Programmes

  • Grades 11 to 12

  • Students choose between the Diploma or the Career-related Programme, both accredited by the IB (see below)

  • German and English-based courses offered

  • Assessment made by the International Baccalaureate after Grade 12

  • DSD II (Advanced German Language Exam) taken in Grade 11

IB Diploma Programme (DP)​

  • university-oriented

  • skills-based fields, e.g. graphic design, fashion management, game development, etc.​
