Celebrating Lasting Contributions: A Farewell to Our Departing Teachers

As the school year came to a close, the GESM community gathered for a special Student Send-Off to express its gratitude and bid farewell to the teachers who will be leaving the school at the end of the academic year. Students, colleagues, and staff came together to celebrate the dedication, commitment, and lasting impact these educators have made throughout their time at GESM. Over the years, these teachers have contributed far more than classroom lessons. They have guided students through challenges, celebrated milestones, encouraged curiosity, and helped create the welcoming and supportive environment that defines our school community. Their influence can be seen not only in academic achievement, but also in the confidence, resilience, and values they have inspired in countless students. Among those recognised was Mr. Krstovic, whose journey this year reflected the spirit of service and commitment that GESM values so highly. Stepping from his role as a teacher into the position of Acting Head of School, he led the community through a period of transition with dedication, resilience, and care. His willingness to take on new responsibilities and support both students and colleagues, despite the challenges that accompanied the role, serves as a lasting example of leadership built on commitment to the school community.

The send-off was a reminder that while teachers may leave GESM, the impact they have made remains. The relationships they have built, the knowledge they have shared, and the encouragement they have given will continue to shape future generations of students. As the saying goes, 'They walked so we could run.'  The strong foundation they have helped build will continue to support those who follow, ensuring that their contributions live on within the school community. Although we now say goodbye to many familiar faces, this moment also marks the beginning of a new chapter. As we thank our departing teachers for everything they have contributed, we also look forward to welcoming new educators who will continue to build upon the values, traditions, and sense of community that have been nurtured over the years.

To all of our departing teachers, thank you for your passion, dedication, and the countless ways you have enriched the lives of our students. Though your journeys now take you in new directions, your time at GESM has left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire those who remain. We wish you every success and happiness in the chapters ahead.
