German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) visits GESM

On Thursday, February 9, the German European School Manila (GESM) had the honor of hosting Dr. Monica Fröhlich, representative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and professor at the University of the Philippines - Diliman.

As part of GESM's University Visits, Dr. Fröhlich came to the campus to present information about studying in Germany, and an overview of the scholarships that the DAAD offers. After her presentation, a lively discussion followed that also involved Dr. Christoph Grandt, coordinator of GESM's GIB ("German IB" or gemischtsprachiges IB). As laiason officer for tertiary educational institutions in Germany, Dr. Grandt was able to impart valuable tips and details for students looking to study in Germany.

The DAAD is the world's largest funding organisation for the international exchange of students and researchers. They facilitate exchanges between students, professors and other academics, as well and offer scholarships for Germans to study abroad or for international students to study in Germany.
