In the weeks leading to December, the GESM community united in a heartwarming effort to prepare nearly 150 wrapped shoeboxes for our partner charity, Children of the Dump Manila. This annual Shoebox Project saw students, parents, teachers, and community partners come together to collect toys, books, school supplies, and other donations. Each item was carefully packed into shoeboxes and wrapped in festive Christmas paper.
Tuesday, December 9 marked a special moment as we delivered these gifts. Students from various grade levels helped load two school buses full of presents, while Grade 12 volunteers accompanied the delivery. They engaged with the children through games, assisted in distributing the gifts, and spent valuable time interacting with both the children and the teachers from the organization.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our school bus providers, CEM Transport and Euro Transport, for their generous support in covering transportation for both the gifts and the personnel involved. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this year’s drive—your contributions made today’s joyful event possible!
