After our students took part in the Kangaroo Mathematics Competition in March with great enthusiasm, concentration, and perseverance, the waiting was finally over: A few weeks ago, the official results from Germany arrived at our school, and this week certificates and prizes were presented to all participants.
The results are truly impressive! We are especially proud that four of our students received an official prize in the Kangaroo Mathematics Competition. These prizes are awarded across Germany and are strictly limited: In each grade level, only the highest-achieving participants receive a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Prize. Overall, only about 5% of all participants are awarded one of these prizes. We are therefore delighted with the outstanding achievements of our students and warmly congratulate our prize winners.
Congratulations to:
2nd Prize: Tia M. (Grade 5eB) – also awarded the Kangaroo T-shirt for the "Longest Kangaroo Jump"
2nd Prize: Shaoyan Z (Grade 7eB)
3rd Prize: Helena K. (Grade 4d)
3rd Prize: Nagisa S. (Grade 7eA)
In addition, Maria R.P. (Grade 4d) received the coveted Kangaroo T-shirt for the "Longest Kangaroo Jump" – an award given to students who achieve the longest consecutive streak of correct answers during the competition.
But the official prize winners were not the only ones to celebrate. All students who scored 80 points or more received an additional prize from our school in recognition of their excellent performance. And, of course, no one went home empty-handed: Every participant received a certificate as well as the traditional Kangaroo gift – this year either a mathematical card game or a puzzle.
The award ceremony was filled with smiling faces and once again showed that the Kangaroo Competition is about much more than mathematics. It encourages logical thinking, perseverance, and the confidence to tackle challenging problems while making mathematics enjoyable and engaging.
Congratulations to all participants on their excellent achievements! We are already looking forward to next year's Kangaroo Mathematics Competition. 🦘
