Our students took part in the MISAA Chess Tournament held on 9 May at Singapore School Manila, joining schools from across the MISAA community for a day of competitive but friendly matches. The event included both individual and team categories in the U8 and U14 divisions, giving students the opportunity to apply their skills in a structured tournament setting.
In the U8 individual category, one of our students performed consistently well throughout the rounds and was awarded the gold medal after completing all matches. In the U14 individual category, another student also achieved a strong result, finishing in first place overall. Both players demonstrated steady focus and careful decision-making across their games.
In the team competition, our U14 group worked together across the boards and managed to secure second place overall, earning the silver medal in a closely contested standings.
Throughout the tournament, students showed concentration, patience, and good sportsmanship while facing a range of opponents. The experience also gave them the chance to further develop their game in a competitive environment and learn from each round.
We congratulate all participating students for their efforts and for representing the school well at the event.
