Eurocampus Football Teams Kick Off Their First Tournament with U13 Championship Victory

On 26 September 2026, the Eurocampus football teams, representing German European School Manila (GESM) and Lycée Français de Manille (LFM), took part in their first football tournament of the school year, competing against several schools and football academies. Both the U13 and U18 teams faced a series of matches, with the U13 team finishing as tournament champions following an exciting penalty shootout in the final.
U13 Team: Tournament Champions
The U13 team had an impressive start to the tournament, winning their opening match against BSM Lions White with a 6 to 0 victory. They continued their strong performance in the following match, securing another 6 to 0 win against JFC 'A'.
Advancing to the semifinals, Eurocampus faced JFC 'B' and earned a 3 to 1 victory, securing their place in the final against BSM Lions Blue.
The championship match proved to be the closest contest of the tournament. Both teams finished regular play with a 1 to 1 draw, sending the match into a penalty shootout. Eurocampus ultimately secured the title with a 3 to 2 victory on penalties, completing the tournament undefeated.
The U13 team's performance reflected their teamwork, determination and consistency throughout the competition, with a total of 16 goals scored across four matches.
U18 Team: A Competitive Start to the Season
The U18 team also began their tournament with a victory, defeating Tuloy Foundation 2 to 1 in their opening match.
Their second match against De La Salle Lipa proved more challenging, resulting in a 3 to 0 defeat. However, the team continued to compete in their remaining fixtures, earning a 1 to 1 draw against G8 Academy and finishing their final match against BSM Lions with a goalless draw.
Although the U18 team did not achieve the same results as their younger counterparts, their opening victory and two draws demonstrated their ability to compete against different opponents. The matches also provided valuable experience as the players continue developing their coordination, communication and teamwork on the field.
A Promising Start for Eurocampus Football
The tournament marked an encouraging beginning for both Eurocampus football teams. While the U13 players celebrated their championship victory, the U18 team gained further competitive experience against other schools and football academies.
Beyond the results, the competition gave students from GESM and LFM the opportunity to represent Eurocampus together, strengthen their teamwork and develop their skills through competitive football.
With the first tournament completed, both teams can build on their performances as they prepare for future matches throughout the school year.
