Eurocampus Basketball Teams Make Their Tournament Debut at BSM

The Eurocampus basketball teams, representing the German European School Manila (GESM) and Lycée Français de Manille (LFM), recently participated in their first basketball tournament, hosted at the British School Manila (BSM). Both the U18 and U15 teams competed against various basketball clubs from across the Philippines, marking an important milestone for the newly formed Eurocampus teams.
The U18 team began the tournament with an opening match against the host school, BSM. The game proved to be a closely contested encounter, with Eurocampus coming very close to securing its first victory. Although the match ultimately ended in BSM's favour, the narrow result demonstrated the team's determination and ability to compete against experienced opponents.
Following their opening match, the U18 team continued to face other basketball clubs from across the Philippines. Each game presented different challenges as the players adjusted to new opponents, playing styles, and levels of competition. While the team did not secure a victory during the tournament, the experience allowed the players to develop their coordination, communication, and understanding of competitive basketball.
The U15 team also participated in a series of matches against other basketball clubs. Several games were closely contested, with the players coming within reach of victory. Despite finishing the tournament without a win, the younger team gained valuable experience and demonstrated its willingness to compete and improve.
For both teams, the tournament was an opportunity to put their training into practice and experience a competitive environment beyond regular school sports. Facing different basketball clubs also allowed the players to observe different approaches to the game, identify areas for improvement, and learn how to respond to challenges together.
As the first basketball tournament for the Eurocampus teams, the event was an important step in bringing together students from GESM and LFM through sports. It provided an opportunity to strengthen friendships, encourage teamwork, and build a shared identity as representatives of the Eurocampus community.
Although neither team recorded a victory, the tournament provided a starting point for future development. With their first competitive experience behind them, both the U18 and U15 teams can continue building their skills, confidence, and teamwork as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
