On May 16, the campus auditorium at GESM hosted a fair where students from the Secondary School Collaboration Groups presented their projects. These groups bring together students from different grades and sections to explore, research, and carry out projects based on their own ideas and interests, encouraging student participation throughout.
Teachers and fellow students visited the exhibits, where Collaboration Group members explained their work over the past school year, describing their goals and processes.
Highlights included:
Gardening: Since January, students built a herb spiral in the school garden, mixing cement and bricks, preparing soil layers, planting herbs, and designing 3D-printed water sprinklers.
An Ocean of Plastics: This exhibit showed how plastic and microplastics affect marine life and humans, featured deep-sea ecosystems and artificial reefs, and demonstrated gadgets to reduce plastic use and clean water.
From Earth to Space: Students shared facts about black holes, constellations, rocket history, and star cycles, and offered hands-on experiences with Mars rover models. They also used 3D printing to make parts of their projects.
Cosmetics: Students created their own beauty videos and photos, exploring cosmetics content like mini influencers.
3D Printing: Using Tinkercad, students designed and printed plastic parts, supporting other projects with their skills.
The fair showed the students’ hard work and the collaborative learning encouraged at GESM.
