Es ist auf jeden Fall eine besondere Situation, wenn die mündliche DSD-Prüfung nicht gleich nach der schriftlichen stattfindet, sondern man muss auf sie 194 Tage warten und wenn die Prüfung noch zusätzlich in der Residenz der deutschen Botschafterin durchgeführt wird, dann ist das Ganze nicht nur besonders, sondern außergewöhnlich.
Die Sprachdiplomprüfung wurde im März wegen der Corona-Krise unterbrochen. Um die Prüfung abzuschließen fehlte der mündliche Teil.
Wegen der philippinischen Maßnahmen gegen Covid-19 durften die Prüflinge zur Schule nicht eingeladen werden. Eine videogestützte Prüfung kam auch nicht in Frage, weil Prüfungsbedingungen der DSD-Prüfungsstelle aufgrund der Beschränkungen in Metro Manila nicht umsetzbar waren.
Als wir schon dachten, dass wir die Prüfung leider absagen müssen, kam die Deutsche Botschaft zur Rettung.
Den Prüflingen und Lehrkräften wurde ein Raum in der Residenz der deutschen Botschafterin zur Verfügung gestellt. Alle Prüflinge bekamen auch eine spezielle, offizielle Einladung der Botschaft, damit sie das Haus verlassen und zu diesem Termin erscheinen durften.
Insgesamt sind am Mittwoch, den 23. September, 8 mündliche Prüfungen abgenommen worden. Das Prüfungsverfahren verlief in einer netten und freundlichen Atmosphäre. Es war sehr schön, die Schülerinnen und Schüler nach 6 Monaten zu treffen und mit ihnen zu sprechen.
Nächste Woche werden weitere DSD-Prüfungen für Schülerinnen und Schüler stattfinden, die sich zurzeit außerhalb Manila befinden.
Ich hoffe, dass wir das ganze Verfahren noch vor den Herbstferien beenden können.
Anschließend möchte ich mich bei der Botschaft und der Schulleitung für die Hilfe bei der Organisation und Durchführung der Prüfung bedanken und lade Sie noch ein, die Eindrücke der Schülerinnen und Schüler zu lesen.
„Das lange Warten auf die mündliche DSD-Prüfung war stressig, denn niemand wusste, ob es passieren wird oder nicht. Für mich war die Wartezeit hilfreich, weil ich meine Sprechfähigkeiten während des Unterrichts verbessern konnte. Dann kam der Tag der mündlichen Prüfung und ich war zunächst ziemlich nervös, aber es ging schnell weg, als ich anfing, zu reden. Die Vorstellung, es sei ein freundliches Gespräch statt einer großen Prüfung, beruhigte auch meine Nerven. Es war besser als ich erwartet hatte und ich denke, dass meine Prüfung gut gelaufen ist!
Ich habe mich sehr gefreut, die Lehrer zu sehen! Es war schön, sie endlich persönlich zu treffen. Außerdem war es sehr schön, die Prüfung in der Residenz der Botschafterin zu machen. Ich mochte die Atmosphäre. Es war eine schöne Erfahrung, dorthin zu gehen, denn die Umgebung war wirklich entspannend.“ Emme, 10i
„Ich kam in der Residenz der Botschafterin ungefähr um 11:50 an und ging direkt in den Prüfungsraum. Ich war aufgeregt und sogar ein bisschen nervös. Dort begrüßten mich Herr Gabel und Frau Komicz mit einem Lächeln. Ich setzte mich hin und fing an, zu reden. Sie fragten mich nach meinen Lieblingsbüchern, Lebenserfahrungen und Online-Schule. Danach ging es mit meiner Präsentation los. Ich habe über mein Berufspraktikum im Februar berichtet. Nach der Präsentation sprachen wir noch über meinen Vortrag und dann war die Prüfung schon zu Ende! Ich stieg ins Auto und fuhr mit meinen Eltern wieder nach Hause. :)“ – Juliette, 10d
"Ich denke, dass das DSD 1 wirklich gut war. Ich denke, es ist eine gute Herausforderung für Leute, die Deutsch lernen. Das liegt daran, dass sie wirklich geprüft werden, wie gut sie die Sprache kennen. Obwohl ich den ersten Teil (Hörverstehen) schwierig fand, denke ich immer noch, dass es eine gute Erfahrung war, auch wenn ich es nicht gut gemacht habe. Ich kann es nächstes Jahr noch einmal machen. Ich denke auch, dass der letzte Teil vom DSD, der im Haus der deutschen Botschafterin stattfand, eine perfekte Art und Weise war, um es zu beenden: eine Deutschprüfung im Haus der Botschafterin. DSD Oral Exams -- An Extraordinary Circumstance
It is a special situation if the oral DSD exam does not take place immediately after the written one, but you have to wait 194 days for it and if you take the exam in the residence of the German ambassador, then the whole thing is not only special but extraordinary.
The German language diploma examination was interrupted in March due to the Corona crisis. To complete the exam, the oral part was missing.
Because of the Filipino measures against Covid-19, we were not allowed to invite the examinees to the school. A video-based examination was also out of the question because the examination rules from the DSD office could not be implemented due to the restrictions in Metro Manila.
When we thought that we would have to cancel the exam, the German embassy came to the rescue.
The embassy offered us a room in the residence of the German ambassador. In addition, all examinees received a special, official invitation from the embassy so that they could leave the house and appear on that date.
A total of 8 oral exams were held on Wednesday, September 23rd. The exam proceeded in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. It was very nice to meet and talk to the students after 6 months.
Next week there will be more DSD exams for students who are currently outside of Manila.
I hope that we can finish the whole process before the autumn break.

“The long wait of the oral DSD was tense because almost every month was a wonder whether or not it will happen. For me, the gap was helpful because I was able to sharpen my speaking skills during class. Then came the actual day of the oral exam and I was quite nervous at first, but it quickly went away when I began talking. Imagining it to be a friendly conversation instead of a big exam also helped calm my nerves. It was better than I expected so I think my exam went well!
I was really happy to see the teachers! It was nice to finally see them in person. Additionally, taking the test in the Ambassador’s residence was quite nice, I liked the atmosphere. Going there was a nice experience because the environment was really relaxing.” Emme, 10i
“I arrived at the ambassador's residence at about 11:50 am and went straight to the exam room. I was excited and even a little nervous. There Mr. Gabel and Mrs. Komicz greeted me with a smile. I sat down and started talking. They asked me about my favorite books, life experiences, and online school. Then my presentation started. I reported on my internship in February. After the presentation we talked about my topic and then the exam was over! I got into the car and drove home with my parents :) “- Juliette, 10d
"I think that the DSD 1 was really good. I think it is a good challenge for people who take German. This is because you are really tested on how well you know the language. Although I myself feel like the first part (Listening) was difficult, I still think that even if I did not do well it was a good experience and I can always do It again next year. I also think that doing the final part of the DSD at the German Ambassadors house was the perfect way to end it, You end a German exam in the Ambassadors house, it was an honor.” – Cassius, 10i
