Empowering Learning Through New Lab Equipment

by Grisela Ruiz Martí and Sebastian Schaffer

The science lab buzzed with excitement as students experienced their first use of a brand-new set of student microscopes in the past weeks. Students eagerly examined slides, discovering the intricate details of plant and human cells up close for the very first time. The latest addition of a teacher’s microscope with camera allows now for more effective demonstrations, ensuring that lessons are clearer and more engaging than ever.

Not only are the microscopes used in the classroom, but whenever we have the opportunity, we take them beyond its walls! For example, visitors at Mabuhay Germany 2025 had the chance to observe microplastics found in the waters of Manila Bay, guided by our very own middle schoolers.

This milestone in hands-on learning was made possible by the school administration, whose commitment to educational excellence enabled the purchase of the new lab tools. The school’s support is greatly appreciated by both science teachers and students, opening doors to a richer, more interactive science curriculum. With these resources, students are now better equipped to explore the wonders of biology, fostering curiosity and a passion for discovery in every lesson.
