On the morning of February 10, Grade 2E students of GESM took learning beyond the classroom with an exciting community walk to a nearby convenience store. The visit gave children a hands-on opportunity to practice real-world communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
Inside the store, students observed how products are displayed, how advertisements influence choices, and how convenience stores serve the needs of the community. Polite greetings, respectful behavior, and mindful listening were practiced throughout the trip, helping students build confidence in public spaces.
The highlight of the visit was purchasing materials for their class projects. Working in teams with a set budget, students compared prices, discussed priorities, and selected items for making play dough and volcano models. This practical exercise strengthened their understanding of budgeting, collaboration, and responsible spending.
The community walk was a meaningful experience; one that turned everyday errands into powerful lessons in communication, consumer awareness, and teamwork.
