On June 24, students from both the German and English Secondary Sections of the German European School Manila (GESM) lit up the stage in a high-energy, music-filled performance entitled “Masquerade.”
The event was the culminating showcase of the Performance Arts Collaboration Groups, where students from different grade levels work together during GESM’s unique Collaboration Periods—a regular feature in every class timetable that encourages inter-grade, inter-section, and interdisciplinary learning.
The concert kicked off with a drum battle, followed by a series of musical numbers, including a cheering dance number that even included basketball dribbling skills performed on stage. A standout moment was a beautifully staged excerpt from Phantom of the Opera, performed with striking emotion and flair. The show closed with a surprise: a costumed performance by GESM teachers and staff, drawing enthusiastic applause from the crowd.
“Masquerade” was more than just a concert, it was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the incredible talents of the GESM community.
