Our Pre-Primary Sea Turtles & Big Foxes (Vorschule) recently went on an exciting field trip to MindSpark Museum, where science truly came to life. The visit connected beautifully with our Unit of Inquiry, where we have been learning about scientists, observation, and how we can explore the world around us through curiosity and discovery.

From the moment we arrived, the children were eager to explore the many interactive stations throughout the museum. Each exhibit gave them the chance to observe, try things out, and learn through hands-on experiences.

The highlight of the visit for many of the children was the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence station. Here, they saw how robots can move, respond, and follow instructions. The children watched and tested the robots with great interest and curiosity, asking questions and imagining how technology works behind the scenes. It was exciting for them to see how science and technology come together to create machines that can help people in many ways.

At the Plants, Animals, and Insects station, the children observed different living things and were reminded of the observation skills we have been practicing in class, looking closely and noticing details.

Another engaging area was the Engineering and Physics station, where the children experimented with exhibits that showed how movement, force, and structures work. They enjoyed trying out the activities and seeing science in action.

The Light and Vision station was also a favorite, as the children explored optical illusions and discovered how our eyes and brain work together to interpret what we see. Some of the illusions surprised them and made them laugh!

The children were also curious about the Electricity station, where they saw how energy flows and how electricity powers many things in our everyday lives.

On the ride back to school, the children excitedly shared their favorite moments and talked about the different stations they had visited. It was wonderful to hear their reflections and see how much they had enjoyed the experience.

This field trip reminded us that learning happens everywhere, not only inside the classroom. Experiences like this allow children to explore ideas in real life, making learning meaningful and memorable.

Our visit to MindSpark Museum was a wonderful day filled with curiosity, discovery, and excitement. Most importantly, it reminded our Sea Turtles that with curiosity and careful observation, we can all be scientists exploring the world around us.
