Welcome Barbecue 2026: A Day of Fun, Food and Community!
Despite being postponed to 24 October 2026, the GESM Welcome Barbecue brought students, parents and teachers together for a lively day of activities, food and fun!
Students had the chance to unwind, spend time with friends and enjoy the different activities available throughout the campus. The Club Showcase, held in the gym and on the field, gave families a chance to discover and try out some of the clubs offered at GESM, while a variety of concessionaires provided food and refreshments throughout the day.
This year's barbecue also introduced some new activities to help families, especially those who had recently joined the school, get to know one another. Blackout Bingo and Among Us brought a playful twist to meeting new people, encouraging parents and students to interact, start conversations and make new connections.
More than just a barbecue, the event was an opportunity for the school community to come together, welcome new faces and enjoy a Saturday filled with shared experiences and laughter!
