On September 25, Primary students from both the German and English sections gathered for an anti-bullying assembly led by GESM’s guidance counsellor, Ms. Kim Madi. The program, under the theme “Choose Kindness: Rise Together Against Bullying,” encouraged students to reflect on their role in creating a safe and supportive school community.

Ms. Madi opened with a reminder of what bullying is and how it impacts others. Students were asked to recall the acronym P.A.I.N and to review what it means to be an “upstander”: be a buddy, interrupt, speak up, and tell someone.
This year’s session focused on perspective taking—learning to “walk in another’s shoes.” Through the familiar story of Little Red Riding Hood, students explored how understanding another person’s feelings can help build empathy and prevent bullying before it starts.
Beyond the assembly, Ms. Madi has also been conducting classroom sessions to campaign against bullying, including with Secondary students during their homeroom periods.
The assembly was a chance for Primary students to come together, strengthen awareness, and commit once again to choosing kindness in their daily lives.
