Wie jedes Jahr im November, fand auch dieses Jahr am 11.11.2020 die traditionelle Sankt Martinsfeier der GESM statt.
Leider konnten wir in diesem Jahr nicht wie üblicherweise unter Bäumen bei Laternenschein beisammen sitzen und feiern. Aus gegebenem Anlass mußte die Schulgemeinschaft die Festlichkeit auf die Online Plattform Zoom verlegen.
Dies tat dem Fleiß der kleinen und großen Füchse des Kindergartens jedoch keinen Abbruch.
In den verschiedenen Online-Angeboten des Kindergartens (Morgenkreis, Projekt, Sprachbad) wurde das Teilen, welches die Hauptbotschaft des St. Martins-Festes ist, in unterschiedlicher Weise thematisiert und mit den Kindern behandelt. Es ging nicht nur um das Teilen eines Mantels, wie es Sankt Martin tat, sondern auch um das Teilen von Leid und Freude. Kinder und Erzieher sprachen über das Helfen und darüber, was es bedeutet für jemanden dazu sein.
In einem gemeinsamen Projekt der Vorschule mit der Grundschule bastelten die großen Füchse ihre diesjährigen Laternen.
Um das Basteln einer St. Martins Laterne mit dem Jahresthema “Auf der grünen Wiese” in Einklang zu bringen, haben die Erzieherinnen der kleinen Füchse, in Recherche durch das Internet, eine leuchtend rote Apfel-Laterne mit dazugehöriger Raupe ausfindig machen können. In unserem Online Unterricht wurde es dann sehr spannend zu sehen, wie aus einem Luftballon, mit Kleister und weißem und rotem Seidenpapier auf einmal ein Apfel enstehen konnte. Nun fehlte nur noch die Krepppapierraupe und das Apfel-Raupen-Laternchen war fertig.
Schon in der Woche vor den Herbstferien wurde bei den großen Füchsen ein neues St. Martinslied eingeführt. Dieses wurde von Frau Katrin Parker, Herrn Stefan Schweitzer und Herrn Herbert Salvenmoser vertont, und die Kinder führten dazu einen Laternentanz auf.
Dank der Online Aufführung war es eine gelungene Veranstaltung, da St, Martin ansonsten im warsten Sinne des Wortes ins Wasser gefallen wäre.

St. Martin, Apple Lanterns and a Dance of Lights
As every year in November, the traditional St. Martin's celebration of the GESM took place on 11.11.2020.
Unfortunately, this year we were not able to sit together under trees and celebrate by lantern light as usual. Due to the occasion, the school community had to move the celebration to the online platform Zoom. However, this did not detract from the diligence of the small and large foxes of the kindergarten.
In the various online offerings of the kindergarten (morning circle, project, language bath), sharing, which is the main message of the St. Martin's festival, was thematized in different ways and treated with the children. It was not only about sharing a coat, as St. Martin did, but also about sharing suffering and joy. Children and educators talked about helping and what it means for someone to be there.
In a joint project between the preschool and the elementary school, the big foxes made this year's lanterns. In order to harmonize the crafting of a St. Martin's lantern with the annual theme "On the green meadow", the educators of the little foxes, in research through the Internet, were able to find a bright red apple lantern with a caterpillar to go with it. In our online lessons it was very exciting to see how an apple could suddenly emerge from a balloon with paste and white and red tissue paper. Now only the crepe paper caterpillar was missing and the apple caterpillar lantern was ready.
Already in the week before the autumn vacations a new St. Martin's song was introduced to the big foxes. This song was set to music by Mrs. Katrin Parker, Mr. Stefan Schweitzer and Mr. Herbert Salvenmoser, and the children performed a lantern dance.
Thanks to the online performance it was a successful event, because otherwise St. Martin would have fallen into the water in the truest sense of the word.
