In Grades 5D+6D, we are currently focusing on the topic of animal ethic: specifically, how we can treat animals with respect and why their protection is important. We are learning about the needs of animals, how we can improve their quality of life, and what responsibilities humans have towards them.
To not only discuss what we’ve learned theoretically but also to put it into practice, the students are organizing a bake sale at school on December 8. The goal is to raise money through sales and voluntary donations to support the Philippine animal welfare organization PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society).
The donation will help to:
Care for injured and abandoned animals,
Fund food and medical care,
Support educational projects for animal welfare.
As a highlight of the project, we plan to visit the PAWS organization in January to gain insights into the work of the animal shelter. The students will learn how animal welfare is implemented in practice, meet the animals, and have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the staff.
This project combines knowledge, responsibility, and social engagement—showing how young people can truly make a difference.
