When do we risk an information overload?
We decided, that a short but constant information will help you, as parents, much more in the end.
How would school management react if Taal does reach a level 5 eruption?
Massive eruption of the volcano during school time - With a massive eruption of the volcano during the school time, school management will ask all pupils to move to their respective class rooms. - Attendance will be controlled and reported. - Information bulletins from PHIVOLCS, OCHA and the International Airport, windspeed, wind direction and the actual situation in regard of ash fall, visibility and reported traffic, etc. are factors that will determine, whether it is safe to send our children home. - Otherwise all pupils and staff will be kept safe on Campus. - Parents will be informed accordingly.
Massive eruption of the volcano during transport to or from school - If a massive eruption occurs at the beginning of the trip to school, our children will be brought back home immediately. - If close to school, buses proceed to the Campus. - If in doubt and no communication is possible, buses proceed to the Campus. - Same applies for the way from school to their homes. Dear parents, please do not try to communicate with the staff on the bus in such event, as school management needs to be able to coordinate and to control the situation.
Massive eruption of the volcano during the night or weekend - Parents will be informed via SMS blast, e-mail, website and Facebook. - The wind direction plays a big factor in case of a massive eruption.
Current monitoring:
As the wind forecast for the coming days does not show any changes, we do not expect the current situation to change.
Air quality remains good. All activities are allowed.
Corona Virus
We are aware of the situation and monitor all relevant information (DOH, WHO, etc.) closely.
