The Library has been buzzing with activity as we continue enhancing our spaces and resources to help the GESM community discover the joy of reading and learning—especially in German!

New Books, New Adventures

We are delighted to announce the arrival of many new German titles, carefully selected in consultation with our teachers to match our students’ interests and reading levels. From engaging picture books and fun non-fiction to thought-provoking novels for older readers, our dedicated display areas are now brimming with fresh stories waiting to be explored.

Leveling German Books with Antolin

Antolin is an online reading program that motivates students to read by offering quizzes on German books, allowing them to earn points and track their reading progress. Nearly all book have been updated with Antolin labels clearly indicating class levels, helping students choose titles that best match their reading ability and goals. This update also supports teachers and parents in guiding and encouraging reading practice, while students enjoy the satisfaction of earning points for their reading achievements.

A New Layout for Easier Browsing

In addition to new books and Antolin leveling, we’ve reorganized the German section to make it more user-friendly. Board books, picture books, beginner readers, and bilingual titles are now grouped together, allowing our youngest students and DaF-DaZ learners to independently find books that are “just right” for them.

Encouraging Lifelong Readers

These changes are part of our ongoing commitment to making the library a vibrant, inclusive, and accessible space for all students. By connecting the joy of reading with structured learning tools like Antolin, we aim to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a love for languages.

So, take a tour of the refreshed German section, check out the latest titles, and start your next reading adventure!

See you at the Library!
