The first day of school is always a special occasion, and for our new Grade 1 students and their families, it was marked with a special German school tradition. To welcome them into the Primary School, the community gathered in the Aula for a festive program prepared especially for this milestone.
The event featured performances by Grade 2 students, who delighted the audience and set the tone for a joyful school year ahead. Another highlight the testimonial given by Helena and Sansa from Grade 4D. They shared their own experiences of growing in confidence and skills over their years in Primary, offering encouragement and inspiration to the newest members of the Primary department.
The climax of the celebration came when the Grade 1 students were each presented with their very own Schultüte. This colorful, cone-shaped gift bag is a beloved German tradition, given to children on their first day of school and typically filled with small presents, sweets, and school supplies. The custom is a symbolic way of making the start of formal schooling both exciting and memorable.
With their Schultüten in hand and smiles on their faces, our Grade 1 students stepped into this new chapter of their learning journey. We look forward to accompanying them as they grow, learn, and thrive in the years ahead.
