Earlier today, February 21, 2025, GESM welcomed three accomplished female engineers to share their experiences in STEM fields. The event was organized in connection with the United Nations’ International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11) and aimed to highlight gender equality in science and engineering while encouraging students to pursue their passions, regardless of gender.

The talk was held in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Manila, featuring three guest speakers:
Jesie Jaleco – Transition Manager at EXL
Inés Monclús – Civil Engineer working on the MRT4 project in Manila
Beatriz Hoyos – Engineer in Energy and Environment at Acciona
They were introduced and brought to GESM by Beatriz Jimeno, Education Advisor from the Embassy of Spain in Manila, whose support was greatly appreciated.
The talk was engaging, with students actively participating in discussions, asking insightful questions, and exchanging ideas with the speakers. Alongside the event, a small exhibit on women in science was set up in the Library Extension, where the talk took place, offering students additional resources and inspiration.
GESM thanks all the speakers and the Spanish Embassy for making this event possible and looks forward to more initiatives that inspire future scientists and engineers!
