From June 7 to 12, 2025, 20 athletes represented the German European School Manila (GESM) at the 16th Southeast Asian Games for German Schools, hosted by the German European School Singapore. The event brought together schools from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, New Delhi, Jakarta, and Manila for four days of competition.
Our team achieved impressive results across all disciplines:
Day 1: Volleyball - The mixed volleyball team fought their way to a silver medal after a series of close and exciting matches.
Day 2: Swimming - GESM swimmers stood out, winning medals in nearly every category and showing great strength in the pool.
Day 3: Athletics (Leichtathletik) - Our athletes gave their best against tough competition. While no podium finishes were achieved, they demonstrated resilience and team spirit.
Day 4: Football - Both boys’ and girls’ football teams earned bronze after determined performances in tightly contested matches.
Thanks to the dedication of our coaches and the efforts of every athlete, GESM finished the tournament as overall 2nd runner-up. In total, the team earned 2 golds, 7 silvers, and 10 bronzes — a result to be proud of, reflecting hard work, commitment, and teamwork.
Congratulations to everyone involved!
