On June 20, the students of Grade 6E at the German European School Manila (GESM) showcased their learning through a unique Book Review Project that combined both English and Science in an interdisciplinary approach.
As part of their ongoing Grade 6E Collaboration Groups, students selected and reviewed science-themed books, engaging in both literary analysis and scientific inquiry. Each presentation reflected not only a deep understanding of storytelling and character development but also explored real-world scientific concepts covered in the chosen books.
According to the teacher-organizers, the project aimed to “strengthen reading, writing, and critical thinking while deepening understanding of real-world science concepts.” And the students rose to the challenge—presenting their insights with creativity, clarity, and enthusiasm.
This project stands as a great example of how cross-curricular learning can enrich both academic skills and curiosity about the world.
