On the 16th of February, the German section 1st-graders (Grade 1D) had their first visit with International Section teacher Mrs. Bhowmik's Grade 1i. The children of both classes presented their respective research topics. Recipes or instructions in sequential steps were presented by the 1i. For example, how to make play dough by themselves or how to prepare a cat meal. The 1D dealt with the topic of pets in the project lessons and presented their chosen animal freely in words and pictures.
In the beginning, the children were a bit shy, but this quickly disappeared! It was a nice experience to overcome their own fear and to speak in front of a class of strangers.
