Katadyn Rapidyn Gravity Filter Added to GESM’s Emergency Equipment

Preparing for emergencies on campus means making sure essential supplies are available when they are needed. Alongside food, first aid materials, sanitary supplies and tools, access to drinking water is one of the school’s most important considerations.

GESM already includes stored water and water purification tablets in its emergency preparations. The Katadyn Rapidyn Gravity Filter 10L adds another option for filtering water if an emergency affects the usual supply. Because it operates without electricity, it can also be used if the power is unavailable.

During the school’s research into water filtration options, Katadyn donated the filter to support GESM’s emergency preparations. It was sent to the Philippines via Hamburg with the help of former Headmaster Mr Frank.
