Kindergarteners Explore Classmates’ Homes

Last week, our kindergarteners had a wonderful opportunity to visit the homes of two of their classmates, Luke and Vidhaan. During these home visits, the children explored different spaces where their friends live, play, and spend time with their families. It was a special way for them to see how every home is unique and to learn about different ways families live.

We started our home visit to Luke's by touring the different parts of his house. He showed us where he sleeps, plays, and eats with his family. We enjoyed seeing how his home is special to him.

Next, we visited their garden and explored the plants outside. Luke gave each of us flowers that he gently picked from their garden. We also saw vegetables like bok choy and radish that were freshly gathered, and we replanted small plants to take home.

Our next stop for the home visit was Vidhaan’s house. We discovered that he lives in a condominium and even rode an elevator to reach their floor. He showed us the different areas of their unit, and we saw a beautiful view of the city. This visit is important because it helps us understand that families can live in different kinds of homes.

Before going home, we went around the condominium to see the amenities they share with the community. We saw the pool, kiddie pool, koi pond, pet bird, and playground. We had a great time exploring and learning about the building.

Thank you to Vidhaan, Luke and your families for sharing your beautiful home with us!
