Over the past two weeks, the GESM volleyball teams delivered a series of competitive matches in the Manila International Schools Athletic Association (MISAA) tournament, with strong performances across both Division 1 and Division 2.
On 25 April, the Division 2 mixed team faced CISM in the semi-finals but fell short in a hard-fought match, ending their run in the final stages of the tournament. The team bounced back strongly on 2 May, securing a narrow win against Beacon School to claim 3rd place and earn the bronze medal. The match was closely contested, reflecting the team’s determination and resilience.
In Division 1 boys volleyball, GESM hosted a MISAA fixture on campus on 30 April against FISM. This marked the first MISAA game held at the GESM gym since the COVID-19 pandemic. The home team delivered a strong performance and secured a win, advancing to the semi-finals.
On 2 May, the Division 1 boys then faced Singapore School in a tightly contested semi-final match. The game went to three sets, with GESM narrowly losing the deciding set by just two points. The team will next compete in the battle for 3rd place.
Across both divisions, the teams demonstrated strong teamwork, competitive spirit, and continued growth throughout the tournament.
