U-11M Basketball Enjoys Successful Debut

GESM students were invited to play in the first BSM Basketball tournament of the year on Saturday September 28th.  Entering the Under-11 Mixed division, fourteen eager players started off in fine form by defeating the British School Manila handily by a score of 22-4.

However, the next game would prove a much more formidable task as they squared off against a well-trained White Dragon Club team. After a back-and-forth tussle for the first three periods, the GESM squad managed to take the lead and hold on to seal a thrilling one-point win by a score of 22-21! 

This group of mixed boys and girls, while lacking in experience, really worked hard, had fun and stayed together to have an exciting debut in the competition. Lacing up their shoes to play for GESM were: Grade 4: Max; Grade 5: Princess, Lola, Karen, Maram, Maxine; and from Grade 6: Reza, JJ, Amudha, Jonathan, Santi, Jio and Sandro.

We hope to continue and build by playing future games and participate in tournaments like MISAA this November. Stay tuned!
