Welcome BBQ 2025: A Sunny Start to the School Year

On Saturday, August 30, the GESM community gathered for our annual Welcome BBQ, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was a bright, sunny day right between days of rain, setting the perfect scene for a lively and memorable event.

Parents, students, and teachers enjoyed a wide variety of food, drinks, and activities, all while catching up with familiar faces and getting to know new ones. The Parent Council took the lead in running the drinks station, while enterprising students added to the festive atmosphere by setting up their own booths, from selling crafts to offering karaoke fun.

One of the highlights of the day was the open pool, which proved popular among swimmers of all ages. Laughter and conversations filled the campus as the community came together in a relaxed and joyful setting.

The Welcome BBQ once again reminded us of the value of starting the school year not just with academics, but with connection, community, and celebration.
